Training Bursaries

HTSG Training Bursaries have been reinstated for 2011.  In the past HTSG Training Bursaries have benefited such successful riders as Ruth Edge, Jeanette Brakewell, Kristina Cook and Francis Whittington, but this time there is an added incentive.

Each year a Young Rider, Junior and Pony Rider will each be presented with a cheque for £500, plus a special rug and numnah to be used at events next season.  The presentations will take place at the British Eventing AGM.  The cheque is to be spent on training, but if the rider is then selected for their respective European squad the following year they will receive a bonus cheque of £250 to be spent as they wish.

In 2011 the HTSG is delighted to support Tom McEwen (Young Rider), Tim Rogers (Junior) and Sophie Beaty (Ponies) in their quest to represent Great Britain. 

All three were successful in their European Championships in 2010:

• Tom finished eighth in the under-25s at Bramham and went on to be 14th and a member of the Young Rider gold medal team on Major Sweep

• Tim has picked up several useful placings on five different horses this year and with the Junior team won and individual bronze medal on his home-bred Corrieview Owen

• Sophie finished 4th individually and won a team gold medal on Done and Dusted IV at the Pony Europeans
